Save this blog post for your next trip to Christchurch and let me know what you would add to the list!
Barefoot Eatery, The Welder
@barefoot_eatery - located in @thewelderchch is a great 100% #plantbased spot with delicious salad bowls, great macadamia drinks, tasty raw slices and fresh juices. There’s also a Good For Store (wholefoods refillery) next door and beautiful internal garden to work in 💻 👏🏼
Child Sister
Gorgeous café in Christchurch city with vegan friendly brunch options. Their oats with cinnamon apple and coconut crumble were incredible and the café vibes are un-matched! Next time i’ll be ordering the vegan options of sweet corn and mungdal fritters.
Bonobo Cafe
100% vegan eatery in Sumner. Bonobo have a range of colourful cabinet food from savoury jackfruit wraps to sweet chocolate tarts. You can also order breakfast foods off the menu, like avo toast with tofu scramble!
Portershed Cafe - was one of the most highly recommended #vegan spots in Christchurch. They’ve got lots of vegan friendly grocer goods that you can’t find anywhere else & a tasty packed cabinet!
Grater Goods - is vegan delicatessen and restaurant, with deli goods that they stock around the country (including @moorewilsons !). The restaurant serves tasty burgers, including a tofu one for those non faux meat fans. They also have a deli store of vegan products to take home.
Riverside market
Riverside market is a must stop in the city centre with a range of shops & eateries. @plantbasicsnz are stocked there, as well as eateries such as Indo tempeh house which always comes highly recommended by Christchurch locals!
Arbour Pizza - Lyttleton
Set in a cosy, plant filled bar, with a woodfire pizza oven at the heart, this is the best woodfire pizza I’ve ever had! They have a number of plant based pizza options on the menu and serve fries with vegan aioli. This is a must stop if you’re in Lyttleton., or able to visit!
Pizza trap - takeaway option
Pizza Trap from Space Academy (available on Uber eats as well) have a large range of incredible vegan pizzas. I ordered the margherita pizza with olives and it did not disappoint. 10/10 would recommend checking them out if you’re looking for tasty eats delivered to your door.
Bonus tip, stop by New World Durham street for vegan delights
There’s a vegan baker at New World Durham street, which explains their range of Vegan friendly baked goodies! They also have a eco store refill section and a large range of frozen plant based products!
