Vegan friendly BLAT with Tempeh
Would you taste test this #vegan BLAT?
Made with marinated tempeh, served in fresh sourdough bread with @wiseboysnz sriracha mayo 😍 who needs the “real” thing!
Ingredients:
Two slices of sourdough
1/2 block of Tempeh (4 slices per sandwich)
Fresh Lettuce
Avocado
Tomato
Sriracha Mayo
Hummus
Tempeh marinade:
1 Tbsp olive oil
3 Tbsp soy
2 Maple syrup
Pinch of salt
1 ½ tsp liquid smoke
1 ½ tsp smoked paprika
Cracked pepper
Method:
1. In a shallow bowl, add all marinade ingredients and soak thinly sliced Tempeh.
2. Cut thick slices of sourdough and toast.
3. Add marinated Tempeh to a small fry pan on the stove and cook each side of the Tempeh until golden and it starts to get crispy!
4. Layer the sandwich with vegan sriracha mayo, hummus, fresh lettuce, avocado, tomato, cracked pepper and Tempeh
5. Cut in half & enjoy!
